"How long does the queen intend to wait?"
"As long as necessary."
"Look, I'm not questioning the queens plan…I'm just saying…"
"Saying what, exactly?"
"…She plans on pampering this thing…this alien!"
"Well, you can't teach a hippocampus to come by whipping it."
"But this isn't an ANIMAL!....It's a creature…a thing!"
"A creature that holds the key to our survival."
"…"
"I'm not saying I disagree with you…I'm saying that I agree with the queen more. The last raid nearly destroyed this palace…if we don't find an answer soon then…"
"We're all doomed, I know."
"So we must have patience…we must trust that the queen will be able to coax the answers out of him."
"By sending one of her servants to be its attendant? Warden Sidgiv told me about how vicious this thing was…is it safe for that girl to go in alone?"
"I don't know…Sidgiv hasn't been himself lately. I think the alien got to him."
"Let's pray that it doesn't get to us too…or that girl."
"…Agreed."

"I do hope it is all to your liking, sir." I groaned through a mouthful of…whatever it was I was eating and swallowed.
"Please…you can stop calling me, sir." Claire bowed low again.
"I apologize sir…I mean…Joseph." She corrected. "It is so hard to remember, sir."
"Don't hurt yourself trying, Claire" I laughed. She suddenly blushed furiously and began fingering her hair strands…she did that every time I addressed her by the name I had given her. "Do you…like me calling you that?" I asked. "Because if you're not comfortable with it, I can stop."
"No, sir!" she cried. "I…I very much like it, sir." I grinned and leaned closer to her from on my bed.
"Then if you want me to keep calling you by your name…would you PLEASE start calling me Joseph?" I asked. She giggled girlishly and nodded.
"I will try…Joseph." She giggled as she said my name. I was chewing on some rubbery food, but as far as I was concerned, it was filet minion!
"This is really good!" I told her. "What is it?"
"Red Manticalim meat, boiled steadily for-"
"Red what?" I asked.
"You…do not know what Manticalim is?" She asked in surprise. I shook my head. She started to explain but I held up my hand.
"I probably don't need to know that badly." I said. "But what I do need to know is, what happens to me now?" Claire looked down at her feet in a sort of mid bow.
"You will be taken before her royal highness, Queen Soniera."
"And what will she do with me?" I asked. Claire shook her head.
"I cannot say."
"Does that mean you don't know…or you aren't allowed to tell me?" Claire suddenly looked very concerned. She began to back out of the room.
"If you will excuse me…I need to inform her highness that you are coming."
"But Claire, I-"
"I must go!" She then fled the room, leaving me alone to sit on my bed and curse myself.

"DAMN!" I roared. I leaped to my feet and began storming around my room. "I upset her…and after all she's done for me! Why did I have to open my big mouth and be all snoopy? I'm such a fool."
"I wouldn't admit that…although it is probably true." I spun around. What I saw startled me. There was a tall alien standing before me. His features were slightly different. Rather than bluish skin, he had greenish skin…and his face had a few scars on it. He was well build and muscular. He had on a very tight and equipped military style uniform…except he looked ready to jump into battle. This was a man that shouldn't be messed with.
"Who are you?" I asked.
"I am Vak…Chief of Security and Commander of the Royal Armed Forces." I sneered and folded my arms.
"Nice to meet you," I said, "My name is Joseph…however, judging by the look on your face, you will most likely be addressing me as just 'human' from now on…correct?" The Captain didn't smile or smirk…but simply shrugged.
"Perfect…another fan…and what do you want with me Commander?" I asked. The Commander straightened up stiffly.
"I am to escort you to the queen's royal chambers immediately."
"Joy." I muttered. I jumped down from my bed and walked toward him. However, he held out his hand to stop me.
"I believe that we should make something perfectly clear, human." I stopped and stared him in the eyes. I am not exactly a world class fighter…but my father was a former Navy SEAL and my Uncle was a Marine…my dad had taught me first-hand how to defend myself. No matter what situation, I could handle my own. That said…looking this creature, Vak, in the eyes told me that, no matter how tough I thought I was…this guy would not only kill me easily…he would take pleasure in it. However, I didn't back down or look scared. I tried to look as intimidating as I could.
"And what exactly do you want to say?"
"I would like you to know that I am well aware of your treatment in prison…and while the queen may believe it cruel…I think that Sidgiv had the right idea about how to treat your kind."
"So you sympathize with the lunatic?" I offered.
"What I am saying is this, human…no matter what the queen may say, in my eyes, you are no friend of Osian. Watch your back."
"Sorry…the Warden already took care of my back…I think I'll watch my front instead…while I still have that intact."
"You're humor isn't amusing, human…I suggest we leave now." He turned on his heel and marched out of the room, with me right behind him. I didn't pay much attention to where we were going…because I was more interested in the way the palace looked! Unlike in England castles there weren't pictures up all over the walls…rather the palace was decorative…covered in pearls and flashing stones. It was beautiful. Wandering around were a bunch of man and maid servants who all stopped and stared at me as I walked by. I felt rather exposed…I was wearing a skirt like thing around my waist, and I STILL didn't have a shirt on. We finally made it to these large double doors, and the Commander stopped.
"Beyond these doors is the queens personal chambers." He said strictly. "When you enter, you are to bow and put your forehead to the floor. You must not look at her face. You must address her as majesty or highness at all times. You will speak only when spoken to…and most importantly-"
"Slow down, sir...I can't take notes that fast." I pretended to write fast into the palm of my hand. The Commander sneered.
"-most importantly human…you will keep your wit and humor to a minimum in her presence." He then stepped forward and threw open the double doors.
"Your majesty," he called, "the prisoner is here."
"Excellent work, Commander…send him in." The Commander stood aside, allowing me to enter the chamber. The doors closed behind me, and I was alone.

"Come in, human." I obliged and walked further into the chambers. Pillars lined the walls and there was a giant circular bed in the middle of the room. It was covered by a large satin curtain, and I could see a shadow behind it…the queen. The floor was made of marble, and it was cold under my bare feet. I walked toward the bed, and suddenly saw her shadow move. I fell to my knees and decided to do as the Commander suggested. I placed my forehead on the marble and kept silent.
"I have been reading this text for many weeks now…but I am still as enamored with its beauty." The shadow shifted and I saw her lift, what looked like a book, to her head. "I admire this author so…you humans called him…Shakespeare, correct?"
"You read Shakespeare, your majesty?" I asked in surprise. There was a giggle behind the curtain.
"Indeed…I have always found your culture fascinating…I particularly enjoy your literature." I smiled to myself. At least she wasn't going to kill me.
"You may rise, human…there is no need to bow before me." I raised my head from the ground and looked up at the bed where the queen was rising to her feet.
"Excuse me, your majesty…but you are a queen…am I not required to bow?"
"True…I am a queen…but while you are in my castle, you are my guest. I wish for us to know each other as equals, rather than queen and prisoner."
"The rest of your people don't see it that way." I replied. There was a pause and I could see the queens shadow dressing itself.
"I apologize for the way you have been treated." She said sadly. "To be honest with you…if I had known…I would have stopped it sooner."
"It isn't your fault your highness." I glanced up and saw her figure move out from behind the bed and walk toward me. She knelt down and held out her hand to me to take. Respecfully I took it and she pulled me up from the ground and too my feet. She was wearing something that looked similar to a bathrobe. Her skin was a greyish color and her face was well made up. She was gorgeous…almost human!
"My servant girl told me that you gave her a name…Claire was it?"
"Yes, your highness…If you don't mind my asking…why do you not give your servants names?" The queen let out a friendly laugh.
"You misunderstand…she has a name…but I am the only one allowed to know it." She escorted me deeper into her room. "A name is an important form of identity…if you own someones name…then you own them." She then sat down on her bed and grinned mysteriously up at me.
"However, because you have given my servant a new name…and she has accepted it…then she is no longer my property." My eyes widened in shock. She couldn't mean what I thought she meant.
"Wait…are you saying…"
"Yes, Claire is now your servant for life. She will serve you well, I am certain." From another door at the other side of the room, another door opened and in walked Claire, who had tears flowing down her face. I turned and at first thought she was upset…but no…she was beaming. "Is this your desire, servant?" The queen asked.
"Yes it is…your majesty." The queen nodded and then looked back at me.
"Then it shall be done…but before you go….I have one last request of you, Claire." Claire bowed low in response. "Would you please give your new master a tour around the palace and city…as this will be his home now?" Claire beamed and bowed so low, I thought her head would hit the floor…just how flexible were these people?
"Of course, your majesty! I will be more than happy too!" She then ran forward and took my arm and started to pull me excitedly toward the doors. I looked back at the queen who was simply smiling.
"We shall meet again, Joseph…until then, enjoy your new servant…and friend."
Wow...10 Chapters! I couldn't be more happy! This is...just so awesome! I love how this is turning out and I have so much left to go! I really hope that you all like this one...It isn't the best chapter...but it is kind of interesting in my opinion. I tried to keep it short...but it was hard...I had so much I wanted to say!

If he learnt to defend himself, why didn't he did it during the 'prison lunch'?

I don't know what to think about this queen, she seems nice, but I feel like it is only as long as you obey, or a facade.
