Love is Blind

When I was in high school creative writing class, I was required to write my own short story for the class. We all wrote what we wanted to, the only requirment was that it had to involve a disability of some kind in the story so that we couldn't make the characters mary sues or too perfect. They had to have a draw back.

I wrote this one...and you're looking at the finished, typed, printed, and published product. "Love is Blind," is the story of two young children who find themselves suffering heartbreaking and mind boggling problems When the two meet on a school bus, their own experiences lead them to make new discoveries and new understanding. Will it be enough to correct the wrongs that they've done and the problems they undergo?

As you probably guessed, the disability in the story is that the girl in the story is blind. She's planning on running away from home because her parents are over protective, overbearing, and restrictive. The boy she meets is normal on most accounts, but his parents are going through a divorce and he's considering running away too. So...it's kind of the two meeting and reaching a pivoting point.
