Adventure in Universal Studios

“Universal Studios huh? Sounds exciting.” Hayden said with a grin.
“I’m staying here.” Claire snapped. Hayden sighed and crossed his arms in frustration.
“Claire, we’ve discussed this…we’re going in that park.” He growled.
“No way!” Claire shouted.
“But I wanna see the Men In Black ride!”
“When you’ve seen one roller coaster, you’ve pissed your pants at them all.” Claire whimpered. Claire had still not gotten over her fear of roller coasters, and Hayden had been trying all day to convince her that they were safe. She hadn’t listened, and here they were, at the front gate, and he was having to pull her along like a scared child.
“Look, I can’t go alone! You’re the only one who’s been here before, and I need you to help show me around!” Hayden pleaded. “I promise that I won’t make you go on any roller coasters if you just agree to at least come inside with me!”
“…You promise?”
“I promise. No roller coasters.” Hayden assured her. “You have my word that I won’t force you on any coasters!” Claire seemed to relax at this and hesitantly lead him through the gate.

As they walked through the park, Hayden was amazed by just the sheer size. It felt like walking through a city! Everywhere he turned there was some shop, some attraction, or some ride. And where there wasn’t one of those things, there was some kind of informational building explaining the history of some kind of Universal movie. Claire was looking at the Blues Brothers building while Hayden was laughing about the fact there was a Shrek attraction.
“Wasn’t Shrek Dreamworks?” Hayden asked.
“I dunno…never really got into Shrek” Claire explained.
“WHAT!?” Hayden spun around and faced Claire. “You never got into Shrek?”
“No…I didn’t even like it that much.”
“….You poor child…” Hayden wrapped his arms around Claire in an embrace and had to fight back tears. “You poor deprived thing…it’s okay…”
“Um…it’s not that big of a deal.”
“No, no, no…shhhh…it’s alright…it’s alright. I’m here for you…”
“Oh go soak your head you asshole.”
“Shut up bitch, Imma comfort ya.”
“LET ME GO!”
“No. You’re warm.”
After a few moments of laughter and shoving, the two continued on their way. Passing by the Jurassic Park ride made Claire nervous and start to walk right by it. Hayden stared for a while and grinned.
“Now there’s some potential for a good adventure.”
“NO!” Claire barked. It wasn’t until about 15 minutes later that they finally came across what Hayden had been looking for! It was a large white building with glass walls and the catchy theme song playing just outside.
“Is this…” Hayden breathed.
“Yeah, the Men In Black ride.” Claire stated flatly. “It’s an interactive roller coaster where you are given a laser and you shoot aliens as you ride.”
“IS THIS HEAVEN!?”
“You’re no angel.” Hayden ran to the line to lead him inside and Claire followed slowly, practically dragging her feet. The whole way. Hayden glanced back and groaned. She was still nervous about roller coasters.
“Look, if you’re really scared, just wait out here and try not to get kidnapped.” Hayden snorted. “I’ll be back to pick you up later.”
“Stop treating me like a child!”
“Stop acting like one.” Hayden snapped before walking into line and going inside. Claire huffed and leaned against the side of the building, waiting for Hayden to come out again.

Hayden walked through the long crowds of people, wondering what on earth was with the ridiculous line! I mean…Disney and Universal lines were probably gonna be long but this felt like it was taking forever!
“Excuse me, are you Hayden?” Hayden spun around to see two men standing there in black suits and black sunglasses. They were frowning…and trying too hard to look professional.
“Yeah?”
“Step this way please?” They ordered. Leading Hayden out of line, they brought him into a strange hallway and into a hidden door. Hayden grinned as he walked in and one of the men stopped him in his tracks. “Your name is no longer Hayden, you shall be known as Agent H., not to be confused with Preperation H.”
“Ha. Cute.”
“You’re mission is to blow as many extra terrestrial bugs off of our planet as possible, understood?”
“Damn, you guys are good.” Hayden laughed.
“You will of course need your uniform.” The other agent stepped forward with a hanger carrying a matching black suit, tie, and shoes in his other hand. Hayden’s mouth fell open and he practically snatched the suit away throwing it on happily.
“I swear this is the best day of my life!” Hayden squealed.
“Also, you will require a standard issue plasmatic thermoblaster.” The agent held out a briefcase, opening it to reveal an alien gun inside. Hayden was drooling at this point.
“I…I…I…I…I don’t…I can’t…did you…DID YOU!?!”
“Are you alright, Agent H.?”
“Yes, I’m gun please fine have can I?”
“I have no idea what you just said, Agent H…but it sounded cryptic, so I automatically believe you. You’re gonna make a fine agent.” The agent handed Hayden the gun as Hayden began to tremble with excitement.
“Hayden has gun…Hayden HAPPY!!!” Before the agents could even explain his mission, Hayden was walking out the door into a large garage like area with a single car on tracks. Hayden climbed in and the car began rolling down the tracks. Along the way music began playing and the lights went out.
“What th-HOLY SHIT!” Out of no where a giant bug like beast leaped out and Hayden wasted no time in firing. The gun ejected an enormous blast of green energy which fried the monster where it stood. Hayden stared at the smoldering wreckage before him and he felt his smile grow wider…he’d never felt this excited before…NEVER!
“Oh. My. God…” Hayden was near orgasmic level now as he stared at the smoking gun. “Time to practice my second amendment rights!!” As the car drove on, more alien beasts began running out to meet him. Each time one appeared, Hayden would life wildly as he blew a hole through its head…until it had no head. “BWAHAHAHA! DIE ALIEN SCUM!! GET READY FOR A CLOSE ENCOUNTER WITH MA FIST!!!”
When the ride was finally over, Hayden stepped out of the car, holding the gun in hand. The two agents were waiting for him at the end of the ride, smiling. “Well done, Agent H. You’ve proven yourself an affective agent. Will you perhaps consider joining our agency?” Hayden shrugged and walked past them.
“Joining an organization? Following rules? Not my style. Tell ya what, ladies…you get another pest problem like this, just shoot me a text and I’ll happily clean it up for ya. Have a nice day.” Hayden put on his shades and walked past them as smoothly and badass as possible.
“Damn he’s a badass…”
“Damn straight I am.”

“Yo, Claire.” Hayden said, walking out of the building. He put his pistol back in his holster and lowered his shades to look at Claire. “Dig the look?” Claire looked and blinked a little.
“Why are you wearing that!?”
“Because awesome is…as awesome does.”

“YEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!”

“The hell was that!?”
“I dunno!” The two stared at each other for a moment and then shrugged it off, continuing on their way through Universal Studios. After a while, Hayden saw a sign leading them to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Hayden chuckled.
“I’ve never been a big fan of Harry Potter, but you might like this.”
“Not much there except for that one giant Harry Potter ride through Hogwarts.” Claire said. “We don’t have to go if you’re not interested.”
“Oh I’m not...but I’d give anything to see you finally go on a ride.” Hayden snickered.
“You promised I wouldn’t have to.”
“Yes, I did…and I meant it too. But all I’m saying is that I guess you should just stay as Claire.” Hayden sighed.
“Stay as Claire? Hell no!”
“Well you sure aren’t a real man…cause a real man would face their fears and actually confront them!” Hayden pointed out.
“I do face my fears!”
“Said the little girl too scared to ride a harmless roller coaster.” Hayden pointed out. Claire flushed and crossed her arms over her chest.
“If I ride the stupid ride, will that convince you that I’m a real man?!”
“It’ll be a start.” Hayden winked.
“FINE! OUTTA MY WAY!” Claire barked, running up to the line. She stopped in the back of the line as Hayden stood behind her. “Why are you coming.”
“To make sure you don’t chicken out. Want me to hold your hand?”
“Do and I’ll break your fingers.” Claire growled. The line moved slowly, but with each step Claire was clearly getting more and more concerned. At one point she even did grab Hayden’s hand.
“Oh, what’s this? You need daddy to hold your hand?”
“Sh-shut up!”
At long last they were at the entrance to the ride and Hayden let go of her hand…and Claire instantly turned around.
“I think I’ll just wait at the b-”
“No. No.” Hayden growled. “You’re doing this! I did not wait in that line for a freaking hour just to let you chickn out!”
“But-”
“GO!” Hayden gave Claire a shove inside and the doors closed behind her. As Claire made her way through the dark corridor, she began to feel a bit more comfortable…until the line vanished.

“Um…where am I? Where’s the line!?” Suddenly Claire squealed when a strange weight appeared on her head. She tried to pull it off, but the tattered and smelly object wouldn’t budge from her head. The Sorting Hat?!
“You really don’t wanna be here do you?”
“WHAT THE HELL!? YOU CAN TALK!?”
“Are you sure you belong in Hogwarts? You don’t seem that bright.”
“Um…said the dusty old hat?”
“I know things that could make your head spin.”
“Like how to give me hat hair?”
“Haven’t you ever heard of thinking caps?”
“No, I’ve only heard of ass hats.”
“Cute. Alright so what house should I put you in?”
“What does this ride have to do with houses?”
“Ride?”
“Yeah, this is a ride at a muggle amusement park…”
“…You’re shitting me.”
“Fraid not.”
“Stop it. It’s not funny anymore. This can’t be a ride! I would have heard about it!”
“Don’t feel bad. Of course you wouldn’t hear about it…You don’t have ears…you’re a fucking hat.”
“…Smartass. Fine. You’re in Ravenclaw now. If you’ll excuse me, I have things to do.”
“WHAT things?!”
“NONE OF YOUR DAMN BUSINESS!” Just as the hat finished speaking Claire squealed as her clothes suddenly began to change! Her shit transformed into a button down shirt with a grey sweater vest over it. A blue and silver tie appeared just under the vest and tightened under her new collar. Her coat transformed into a long black cloak with a raven claw emblem on it. Her hair grew out and a pair of glasses appeared on her face, giving her a cute nerdy look. Claire felt a weight in her pocket and pulled out a long black wand. Her pants were now pleated and she had on a pair of dress shoes with wool socks.
“Why?! Why the hell did I get the cute nerd girl look and Hayden has the cool agent look!?” Claire groaned. “Well…at least it can’t get woOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAA!” Just as she was becoming relieved, a broomstick flew in from behind and sweeped her up onto its shaft. Clinging to it for dear life, Claire screamed as the broom soared through the castle she now found herself in. Hogwarts seemed to flash before her eyes as she shot through busy classrooms, giant yards, a green house with killer planets…it was terrifying! Claire screamed and knew that she was going to die.
“I’M DEAD! I’M DEAD! I’M DEAD!” She screamed. Her knuckles turned white as she gripped the broom stick. It suddenly went into a steep dive and Claire felt tears flying from her eyes as the wind whipped her face. When the broom finally leveled out she could see that she was flying just under the Hogwarts bridge. The trees below towered and poked up to her as if reaching out to the sky. The air itself was cool and crisp and clouds drifted lazily by, passing the day away. It really was a beautiful sight…except for the fact that Claire was looking at it from the back of a broomstick.
“I WANT TO GET OFF NOW PLEASE!” Claire squealed. The broom, as if hearing her pleas, instantly flew back toward the base of the castle. As it drew closer, it began to slow down until it finally touched down just at the base of a set of stairs leading up to the castle…where a line of people expecting to ride the ride were waiting. Claire looked around and saw Hayden standing by the entrance.

“Hayden!” She screamed, running to him. Hayden looked up, and when he saw Claire he lowered his shades a little to make sure he was seeing straight.
“Claire!?” He laughed.
“Yes!”
“You look…you look…”
“Like a little nerdy girl from Hogwarts, I know!” Claire whimpered.
“I was going to say precious.” Hayden joked, wrapping an arm around her as she blushed furiously.
“Sh-shut up you big jerk.” Claire giggled.
“Now come on sweetheart, we got lots more to see in Universal Studios!” Hayden declaired, walking away from the castle. Claire followed, still trembling from the ride she’d just been on.
“You okay?” Hayden asked.
“Just…just getting over that insanity.” Claire admitted.
“Hey c’mon now…it could have been worse.”
“How?” I asked.
“It could have been a roller coaster.” Hayden teased. Claire chased Hayden around the park for a solid 20 minutes before they both finally fell over laughing.

“Claire…thank you for taking me to these parks.” Hayden said. “Really, all joking aside…this has been one of the greatest experiences of my life.” Claire looked to Hayden and gave him a gentle hug.
“I’m glad you’re having fun…but when we get home, can I please be a boy again?”
“Mmm…I dunno, I kinda like you this way.”
“Hayden…”
“Seriously, you’re a pretty cute girl.”
“Stop teasing me!”
“I make no promises, Claire.” Claire punched Hayden’s arm and he laughed at her. The two walked further into the park, laughing at each other the whole way.
